Matthew 7:13-23

The church is everywhere. It is all around us. You can see it every Sunday…Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday….you can see it when you turn on your television. The church is there. It’s there when you give your offering. The church is there when you join a small group. The church is a system that has been developed to help us see the truth. But, if you’re not careful the church will keep you from seeing God.

The radical demands of discipleship in the Sermon on the Mount go beyond expecting us to be “good people.” They teach us how to live into God’s abundance. This is true at every level of our lives—personally, communally, and globally. As Jesus’s disciples of, we are called to be agents of abundant goodness, multiplying God’s goodness in others’ lives and in the environment we share with every created thing.
