Jesus gets interrupted at a party, and has to move forward in a different way. In this time, as we are invited to a festival of justice to change the death dealing systems of white supremacy and policing that have taken so many Black lives, how can we receive interruptions with the same openness to the Holy Spirit, and move forward believing in God’s power, and our own need to act with it?

This week, we'll hear from the Rev. Jessica Vazquez-Torres, Program Director at Crossroads Antiracism Organizing & Training as she talks about Jubilee and the celebration of radical forgiveness. Even though the summer festivals aren’t happening on the streets, it doesn’t mean we can’t still celebrate Chicago Pride! Whether you are in or out, #trans or #cis, whatever color or flavor you are on the rainbow, there is a place for you at Urban Village Church.

Mashaun Simon as he unpacks what it means that every one, of every kind, and with every status, is worth celebrating. Hear from the Rev. Jonah Holm, of Zao Church in Milwaukee, as they celebrate God’s power, and what God has made, even when others would call it undignified or wrong.

Grace, and the ongoing process of sanctification that happens when we allow grace to shape our lives, are at the heart of our faith and our relationship with God. This Sunday, Pastor Hannah invites us to understand the nature of what grace is and how it is a gift offered to each one of us by God.

As we continue to explore the process of growing in God’s grace (aka “sanctification”), we start with prevenient grace – the presence of God waiting to be discovered.
